Commander: Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black discard-and-sacrifice control deck built around Tergrid, God of Fright's theft ability. The plan is to strip opponents' hands with Hymn to Tourach, Mind Twist, Chain of Smog, and Dark Deal, force sacrifices with Pox and Liliana of the Veil, then have Tergrid steal every permanent that hits a graveyard. Drain payoffs - Megrim, Liliana's Caress, Shrieking Affliction, Bandit's Talent, and Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage - convert each discarded card into damage, while Entropic Battlecruiser and Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal add discard pressure and reach. A recursion package of Command the Dreadhorde, Unearth, and Diabolic Servitude rebuilds the board, and Tinybones, Bauble Burglar steals cards from exile. The back face, Tergrid's Lantern, offers a repeatable sac-or-discard enabler. The deck wins through incremental drain plus Tergrid beats, grinding opponents out over the mid-to-late game.
