Deck overview

This Mono-Black deck is commanded by Braids, Arisen Nightmare, leveraging an aristocrats and reanimator strategy designed to dominate through resource attrition and card advantage. Early turns focus on deploying self-recurring or disposable creatures such as Bloodghast, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Ophiomancer. Once Braids hits the battlefield on Turn 3, she converts these tokens and recursive bodies into extra card draw while forcing opponents to sacrifice matching permanents or bleed life. This card flow rapidly fuels graveyard enablers like Entomb and Buried Alive, setting up devastating reanimations of Archon of Cruelty, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Massacre Wurm. With drain engines like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance, every creature death drains the table, culminating in mass reanimation via Living Death or an infinite combo finish with Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank.
