Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai tempo-spellslinger strategy centered on Massimo, the Magician. It uses low-cost cantrips and looters to deposit high-impact 1-CMC instants and sorceries into the graveyard during the opening turns. Once Massimo is deployed alongside cheap, evasive attackers, combat damage triggers copy and cast those exiled spells without paying their mana costs. These free casts feed a dense suite of spellcraft payoffs, rapidly assembling a large token army with cards like Young Pyromancer and Third Path Iconoclast, while burning the entire table with Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe. Repeatable combat-skipping spells like Empty City Ruse shield your life total from opposing attacks, and card-draw engines like Archmage Emeritus and Vega, the Watcher provide abundant card flow. The deck reliably presents a threatening board by turn 5 and closes the game through overwhelming combat damage and non-combat burn by turn 7.
