Deck overview

This mono-black control and group slug deck centers on Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to convert normal game actions into asymmetric life swings. By punishing opponents whenever they draw cards and rewarding its pilot with life gain, the deck establishes an oppressive resource advantage. The primary strategy accelerates into Sheoldred on Turn 3 or 4, followed immediately by lock and burn pieces such as Teferi's Puzzle Box, Underworld Dreams, and Polluted Bonds. These engines rapidly erode opposing life totals while refilling the pilot's hand through life-offset card draw like Greed and Erebos, God of the Dead. When passive attrition is insufficient, the deck pivots into decisive game-ending combos using Exquisite Blood alongside Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or an explosive Peer into the Abyss. Robust creature removal and sweepers maintain board control while the attrition engine secures victory.
