Deck overview

Gandalf, Shadow's Foe leads a mono-blue landfall and combo-control deck that turns land-bounce mechanics and untap synergies into massive card advantage and decisive infinite loops. Instead of relying on traditional green land ramp, the deck uses Moonfolk wizards, bounce lands, and artifact creatures like Walking Atlas to trigger landfall repeatedly. Tutors such as Fabricate and Tribute Mage quickly assemble core combinations like Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal or Patron of the Moon with Amulet of Vigor. Once infinite mana and untaps are online, Gandalf or Trade Routes draws the entire library, finishing all opponents in the same turn with Psychosis Crawler or locking out the board completely with Words of Wind. A robust suite of efficient counterspells and asymmetric tax effects like Mana Breach protects your engine while disrupting opposing strategies.
