Deck overview

This Boros spellslinger deck harnesses Lorehold, the Historian to cheat mana costs on explosive, game-ending instants and sorceries. By giving every instant and sorcery in hand miracle {2} and allowing a discard-to-draw trigger on every opponent's upkeep, the commander transforms expensive spells into cheap, instant-speed plays. Key artifacts like Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and Library of Leng provide tight control over the top of the library, ensuring high-impact cards like Storm Herd, Approach of the Second Sun, and Soulfire Eruption are drawn and cast at miracle timing. The deck backs this proactive engine with a robust suite of efficient single-target removal, flexible board wipes, and versatile protection spells like Boros Charm and Mother of Runes. While reliant on its commander to achieve extreme mana discounts, the deck features redundant card draw and alternative value engines like Arcane Bombardment to close out games across multiple turn rotations.
