Deck overview

This deck is a classic Esper draw-go flash control build helmed by Chromium, the Mutable. The deck's primary game plan revolves around playing almost entirely at instant speed, passing the turn with open mana to react to opponent threats. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with low-cost mana rocks and establishing continuous flash-reward engines such as Wavebreak Hippocamp, Slitherwisp, Alela, Cunning Conqueror, and Rhystic Study. Once the board is stabilized and opposing development is suppressed through a deep suite of spot removal, counterspells, and instant-speed sweepers like Cyclonic Rift and Settle the Wreckage, the deck deploys Chromium, the Mutable at an opponent's end step. Chromium functions as an evasive, uncounterable, and self-protecting Voltron finisher. Backed by extensive phase-out protection spells and combat reversal blowouts like Inkshield, the deck systematically eliminates opponents over multiple combat cycles while dictating the flow of the game.
