Deck overview

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria headlines a Grixis midrange deck that converts the connive mechanic into card selection, board development, and table-wide life drain. The deck curves low-cost Villains and artifact acceleration into a Turn 4 Doctor Doom, immediately triggering menace and connive at combat. As hands are filtered and lands are discarded, Doom burns all opponents while secondary payoffs like Leader, Super-Genius, Ultron, Unlimited, and Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon swell the board with +1/+1 counters and token armies. Control pieces such as Archfiend of Ifnir and efficient counterspells systematically suppress opposing boards and protect Latveria's forces. By Turn 6, the deck establishes an overwhelming board presence backed by evasion and life-drain triggers, closing the game within two response cycles through evasive combat and burn.
