Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black exhibition build where every single nonland card costs exactly 1 mana. Led by Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist, the deck deploys hyper-efficient 1-drop creatures on the first two turns, attacking with Ashnod to sacrifice recurring bodies and generate Powerstone tokens. Because every card is castable for a single black or generic mana, the deck experiences virtually no early mana friction. The generated Powerstone mana cannot cast colored spells, so it is funneled into Ashnod's activated ability to create 3/3 Zombie artifact creature tokens, level up Evolved Sleeper, or activate utility artifacts like Fifty Feet of Rope and The Millennium Calendar. While the deck features high operational redundancy among its creature base and cheap sorcery-speed removal, its lack of high-cost finishers, instant-speed stack interaction, and tutors results in a slow, fair combat clock that grinds down opponents through persistent chip damage and token swarms.
