Hidetsugu & Kairi - Clone & Big Spells by FlixStix

Format: Commander

Commander: Hidetsugu and Kairi

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir deck is a death-trigger value engine built around Hidetsugu and Kairi. The core plan uses sacrifice outlets and cheap "return when dies" instants to repeatedly trigger the commander's death effect, exiling the top card of the library and casting instant/sorcery spells for free. The deck leans heavily on extra-turn spells (Temporal Trespass, Time Stretch, Rise of the Eldrazi) to chain turns, while clone effects (Cackling Counterpart, Saw in Half, Rite of Replication) multiply the commander's triggers. The primary win condition is taking infinite turns via looped extra-turn spells, supplemented by commander damage or death-ping damage from the triggers. The deck is a slow, engine-based combo-control deck that requires setup and protection for its commander to function.
