Kenessos by Inguru

Format: Commander

Commander: Kenessos, Priest of Thassa

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Kenessos, Priest of Thassa deck is a Simic sea-monster "cheat" deck. The primary plan is to use Kenessos's repeatable activated ability to put Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents directly onto the battlefield from the top of the library, often several turns ahead of curve. A dense scry/cantrip suite plus permanents like Augur of Autumn, Lantern of Insight, Thassa, God of the Sea, and The Temporal Anchor constantly feed and reveal the top card so the commander rarely whiffs. Secondary cheat effects include Quest for Ula's Temple, Monster Manual, and In Search of Greatness. The deck wins through combat: Stormtide Leviathan, Archetype of Imagination, and Serpent of Yawning Depths make sea monsters unblockable, while Koma, World-Eater and Spawning Kraken turn one hit into an overwhelming board. There are no infinite combos in the 99; this is a value-and-inevitability deck.
