Rat King by GODLy_ASSASS1N

Format: Commander

Commander: Rat King, Verminister

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a relentless Mono-Black Rat tribal strategy helmed by Rat King, Verminister. The primary game plan revolves around swarming the board with highly synergistic rodents, particularly Rat Colony and Relentless Rats, which grow exponentially in power as your board state expands. The deck leverages its commander's unique ability to mass-reanimate multiple copies of these named cards, turning the graveyard into a massive resource. While overwhelming combat damage is the main path to victory-amplified by finishers like Marrow-Gnawer and Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm-the deck also features a robust aristocrats subtheme. Cards like Ayara, First of Locthwain and Zulaport Cutthroat passively drain opponents as the swarm grows and dies. For explosive finishes, Plague of Vermin can generate an instant army or close out the game alongside drain effects. The deck plays like an inevitable tide of vermin, grinding out opponents through sheer numbers, resilient recursion, and punishing death triggers.
