Deck overview

This mono-black deck runs a dedicated discard and resource denial strategy. Led by Kuroki, Thief of Talents, the deck leverages symmetrical discard engines such as Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists, and Oppression to systematically empty opposing hands by Turn 4. It breaks parity using powerful card advantage and token engines like Waste Not, Tinybones, Trinket Thief, and Geth's Grimoire. The critical onset arrives on Turn 5 with cards like Tergrid, God of Fright or Painful Quandary, turning opposing discards into stolen permanents and lethal life loss. A robust suite of sweepers including Toxic Deluge, Damnation, and The Meathook Massacre keeps opposing battlefields clear of threats. The deck closes games around Turn 7 through overwhelming combat with stolen creatures, Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion triggers, or activated abilities from Tinybones.
