Deck overview

This is a Zirda, the Dawnwaker Boros combo deck that builds the entire 99 around the commander's two-mana discount on activated abilities. Zirda is the commander, not the companion - the printed companion restriction is irrelevant here - and her cost reduction turns the deck's artifact machine sideways: Basalt Monolith untaps for {1}, Oswald Fiddlebender and Sunforger become one-mana tutors, and Bhaal's Invoker becomes an infinite-mana kill button. The primary plan is to land Zirda, assemble one of several infinite-mana engines, and sink that mana into Fireball, Jaya's Immolating Inferno, or ten Bhaal's Invoker activations to eliminate the table. A dense artifact-tutor suite and a low 2.44 curve make the line findable, while Reckoner Bankbuster, Zuko, Exiled Prince, Visions of Phyrexia, and Queen Kayla bin-Kroog provide a value fallback lane if the combo is disrupted.
