Black Bulk by Ourobos

Format: Commander

Commander: K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-as-a-resource deck helmed by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, who converts life into black mana and lets the deck cast spells well ahead of curve. The deck pairs that engine with a dense life-gain package - Demon's Horn, Throne of Bone, Food tokens, and drain effects like Syphon Soul - to sustain the life payments. The primary win condition is Bolas's Citadel: chain cheap black spells off the top of the library paying life (with K'rrik discounting the black pips), build up a critical mass of nonland permanents, then activate the Citadel to sacrifice ten permanents and drain 10 life from each opponent. Secondary paths are incremental drain (Morlun, Devourer of Spiders, Cat-Gator, Tempting Witch) and combat with a growing, lifelinking K'rrik. The deck is a grindy, removal-heavy midrange build that wins through inevitability rather than speed.
