cEDH - Animar - Creature Fire Sale by jjhey

Format: Commander

Commander: Animar, Soul of Elements

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

Animar, Soul of Elements heads a fast creature-combo deck. The primary plan is to land Animar on turn two behind one-mana ramp and fast mana, then chain cheap creatures to stack +1/+1 counters and make creature spells free. Ancestral Statue is the critical loop: it bounces itself whenever it enters, creating infinite creature casts, which sets up a storm kill with Brain Freeze or Grapeshot. A secondary line uses Peregrine Drake and Hullbreaker Horror to generate infinite mana into Walking Ballista. Dense tutoring and free interaction keep assembly reliable, while Hexing Squelcher and Veil of Summer protect the combo turn. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built squarely around Animar's discount.
