The Dragons Hoard by user9214875

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure-matters deck helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm, built to flood the board with artifacts and convert them into overwhelming mana, card flow, and life-loss. The commander's ETB scales off opponents' artifacts, and his triggered ability turns every Treasure-fueled spell into a cheap cantrip. The deck's real engine is the 99: a deep redundancy of Treasure producers (Magda, Brazen Outlaw, Goldspan Dragon, Ancient Copper Dragon, Xorn, Academy Manufactor) feeding a suite of sacrifice/artifact drainers (Mayhem Devil, Reckless Fireweaver, Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice). Wins come either through deliberate drain loops or through the alternate conditions Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant. This is a midrange value deck that wins by explosive artifact accumulation rather than a single combo line.
