Deck overview

This Satoru Umezawa deck is an optimized competitive Dimir strategy combining format-ceiling combo speed with heavy disruption and overwhelming ninjutsu pivots. The primary game plan executes a compact Turn 3 victory using Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. Accelerated by high-density 0-1 CMC fast mana and tutored seamlessly through black's premier search suite, the combo is backed by free countermagic like Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Pact of Negation. Concurrently, Satoru Umezawa transforms cheap unblockable attackers like Changeling Outcast and Ornithopter into delivery systems for game-warping threats such as Toxrill, the Corrosive, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and Void Winnower. Asymmetric stax pieces like Cursed Totem, Grafdigger's Cage, and Opposition Agent severely constrain opposing development while leaving Satoru's from-hand ninjutsu abilities entirely unhindered.
