Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Lifegain Combo-Midrange build led by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The deck blends incremental lifegain, +1/+1 counter distribution, and graveyard creature reanimation into a resilient midrange shell. Early turns focus on fixing mana and deploying engine pieces like Black Market Connections, Karlov of the Ghost Council, and Serra Ascendant. While Betor, Ancestor's Voice creates compounding board advantage and steady card recursion, the deck closes games decisively through compact two-card infinite combos: Heliod, Sun-Crowned with Walking Ballista, and Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. Supported by unconditional tutors in Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor, efficient spot removal in Swords to Plowshares, and board wipes like Damnation, the list reliably threatens lethal combo finishes on Turn 6 while maintaining powerful backup combat and drain pressure.
