Format: Commander

Commander: Maralen, Fae Ascendant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Maralen, Fae Ascendant sits on top of a classic Sultai elfball shell: early mana dorks and lords build an exponential mana base, token makers flood the board with Elf tokens, and the deck finishes with a critical-mass overrun. Maralen rewards that creature count directly - every Elf or Faerie ETB exiles the top two cards of an opponent's library, and with enough Elves you cast one of the exiled spells for free each turn; mass-token turns with Elvish Promenade or Elven Ambush turn her into a terrifying theft engine. The main wins are combat: Craterhoof Behemoth and Ezuri, Renegade Leader turn a wide Elven board into trampling lethal damage. Drain backups exist in Shaman of the Pack, Skemfar Shadowsage, and Lathril, Blade of the Elves. Living Death and Bloodline Bidding provide mass recursion after wipes. The deck is not a one-trick commander deck: remove Maralen and it still plays an aggressive Elf swarm.
