Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition control deck that grinds opponents out through systematic resource denial, reanimation, and big-mana drain finishes. In the opening turns, the deck sets up cheap recursive creatures like Gravecrawler alongside sacrifice outlets like Ayara, First of Locthwain and Priest of Forgotten Gods to generate continuous card advantage and mana. It then transitions into oppressive stax locks using Braids, Cabal Minion, Smokestack, and Tergrid, God of Fright, stripping away opposing boards while remaining entirely unaffected due to its self-recurring creatures. In the late game, the deck leverages massive mana generated by Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast to resolve game-ending spells like Rise of the Dark Realms, looped Gray Merchant of Asphodel triggers, or a lethal Exsanguinate. While vulnerable to mass graveyard exile and lacking reactive noncreature removal, its sheer engine resilience makes it a relentless engine.
