Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Grixis spellslinger and Voltron combat strategy commanded by Fire Lord Azula. The game plan revolves around deploying Azula on turn 4 and attacking on turn 5 to trigger Firebending 2, generating {R}{R} to fuel instant-speed spells cast while attacking. Because Azula duplicates any spell cast while she is attacking, modest combat buffs like Unleash Fury and Blazing Crescendo turn into lethal damage spikes that can eliminate opponents in single combat steps. The deck backs up this aggressive core with a suite of protective equipment such as Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots, alongside flash protection tricks that Azula can also copy. Card velocity is sustained by doubling up on draw spells like Demand Answers and Quick Study during combat phases. If Azula is answered, heavy-hitting finishers like Terror of Mount Velus and Kylox, Visionary Inventor provide strong backup paths to victory.
