Deck overview

This deck is a focused Simic stompy strategy commanded by Kenessos, Priest of Thassa. The game plan centers on using cheap scry effects—amplified by Kenessos's passive ability—to stack the top of the library with massive Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents. On Turn 4, Kenessos begins activating his 4-mana ability to cheat these high-cost titans directly into play at instant speed. By Turn 5, dominant threats like Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Stormtide Leviathan, and Hullbreaker Horror take over the board. The deck protects its position with counterspells, clears opposing creature boards with one-sided bounce spells such as Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets, and finishes the table with trample and flying enablers like Garruk's Uprising and Archetype of Imagination. While vulnerable to early spot removal on Kenessos and lacking noncreature permanent removal, the deck generates high mid-game mana efficiency and decisive combat pressure.
