Deck overview

Grismold, the Dreadsower commands a Golgari aristocrats and Voltron hybrid deck that turns symmetrical token generation into asymmetrical board control. Grismold gives each player a 1/1 Plant token on your end step, then grows whenever any creature token dies. By deploying passive state-based token sweepers such as Illness in the Ranks and Virulent Plague, opponent tokens die instantly upon creation. This fuels rapid growth on Grismold while triggering drain engines like Blood Artist, Poison-Tip Archer, and Mirkwood Bats. The deck closes games through massive trample damage, lethal commander combat with Rogue's Passage, wide Overwhelming Stampede alphas, or high-volume death-trigger life drain.
