Deck overview

Golbez, Crystal Collector leads a Dimir artifact midrange strategy centered on artifact threshold synergies, graveyard recursion, and explosive direct life loss. The deck rapidly builds an artifact count using artifact lands, cheap utilities, and token producers like Sai, Master Thopterist and Retrofitter Foundry. Once Golbez is online with four or more artifacts, he surveils on artifact entries and rebuys creatures from the graveyard at every end step. The deck's primary win condition leverages oversized, low-cost creatures such as Phyrexian Dreadnought and Death's Shadow. Because these creatures readily enter the graveyard upon casting, Golbez can repeatedly recur them at eight artifacts to drain each opponent for 12 to 13 life every turn. Supported by massive Construct beatdown from Urza's Saga and Simulacrum Synthesizer, efficient countermagic, and flexible artifact engines, the deck presents a steady, lethal clock while maintaining card advantage and resilient board presence.
