Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Midrange strategy centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. It leverages the commander's ability to amass an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells, converting combat damage from that Army into substantial card replenishment through the Ring-tempt mechanic. The deck supplements this engine with high-synergy Ring and Wraith payoffs, including a full complement of 9 Nazgûl and Lord of the Nazgûl. A potent suite of passive punishers—including Orcish Bowmasters, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Archfiend of Ifnir—punishes opponents for game actions while softening life totals and sweeping opposing boards. Supported by premier Grixis interaction such as Deflecting Swat, Deadly Rollick, and Cyclonic Rift, the deck controls the pace of play before closing out the game through evasive combat damage and overwhelming board presence.
