Deck overview

This Selesnya deck combines Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion and the Background Master Chef to create an aggressive +1/+1 counters engine. The primary game plan revolves around deploying both commanders by Turn 4, ensuring that every subsequent creature enters the battlefield with two additional +1/+1 counters and scales rapidly with any further counter generation. Midgame beaters such as Lily Bowen, Raging Grandma, Sunscorch Regent, and Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist quickly grow out of control, while overrun effects like Storm the Seedcore and evasion from Training Regimen enable decisive combat steps. The deck features targeted protection cards like Ultimate Magic: Holy and Saved by the Shell to shield key threats, alongside recursion pieces like Together Forever and Resourceful Defense to preserve counter momentum. While vulnerable to mass exile effects and lacking proactive stax pieces, the list reliably delivers heavy combat pressure and resilient board rebuilding across typical midrange Commander games.
