Smaug Dragons by user6032888

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This midrange Dragon/Treasure deck uses Smaug the Impenetrable as an indestructible, hasty beatstick and Treasure battery. It accelerates with Treasures, then converts them into a commander hit, X-spell, artifact-count win, or sacrifice drain. Secondary routes are Dragon beatdown with Scourge of the Throne, Hellkite Tyrant's 20-artifact condition, and a There and Back Again + Mirkwood Bats kill. The commander is not a strict engine, but he is the cheapest way to turn self-damage into large Treasure bursts and anchors the Pestilence loop. There is no double-faced commander; the saga's Smaug token plays the role of hidden combo centerpiece in the fastest line.
