Commander: Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Simic +1/+1 counter deck built around evolve, graft, adapt, and proliferate, with Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle acting as a sleeping mana land that eventually awakens into a 12/12 finisher. The deck develops a wide board of counter-bearing creatures through Experiment One, Fathom Mage, Master Biomancer, and Verdurous Gearhulk, then pushes through with Herald of Secret Streams, Sapphire Drake, Skatewing Spy, and Trollbred Guardian. The primary win path is combat damage with unblockable, flying, or trampling counter creatures, supported by card flow from Bident of Thassa and Bred for the Hunt. Arixmethes is not the engine - the 99 is a functional counters-matter deck on its own. A clunky backup mana engine using Gilder Bairn, Incubation Druid, Vigean Graftmage, and a counter-giver like Rishkar, Peema Renegade can produce arbitrarily large mana if assembled.
