Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control build centered around Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. Its core strategy revolves around stacking the top of the library with odd-mana-value bombs and attacking with Yennett to cast them for free. Key enablers like Sensei's Divining Top, Brainstorm, and Soothsaying ensure that Yennett hits high-impact payloads such as Void Winnower, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Breach the Multiverse. In addition to topdeck manipulation, the list features interactive Sphinx and riddle cards that create unique subgames and resource trades. Because the deck relies on combat damage and high-cost spells to win, it controls the board using asymmetric taxes, creature suppression, and targeted removal. While highly capable of snowballing insurmountable board states, the deck remains vulnerable during the turn cycle Yennett is deployed due to a lack of cheap protection and haste enablers.
