Deck overview

This Grixis Sauron deck is a discard-and-amass value deck that uses Sauron, the Dark Lord to convert Army combat triggers into card advantage and a growing threat. The primary path is to ramp Sauron out by turn four or five, suit him with evasion, and win with three commander-damage hits. Secondary lines use Assault on Osgiliath to turn an Orc Army into a doubled-striking, hasty sweeper, plus reanimation bombs such as Rise of the Dark Realms and Etali, Primal Storm. The commander is both engine and finisher; the deck relies on him for draw and Army growth, but can pivot to reanimator beatdown if he is removed.
