Deck overview

This Grixis deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord is a midrange reanimator/value strategy built around the Ring tempts mechanic and discard synergy. The primary game plan involves filling the graveyard through looting effects, then reanimating high-impact threats like Archon of Cruelty or Terror of the Peaks while leveraging Sauron's ability to amass Orcs and draw four cards when the Ring tempts you. Nine copies of Nazgul provide a resilient, growing threat base that repeatedly triggers the Ring. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage from reanimated creatures, Army tokens, and Nazgul swarms, with Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms as mass-reanimation finishers. It lacks deterministic infinite combos, relying on incremental value and recursive pressure.
