Deck overview

Gandalf, Party Guest rewards a board of legendary Wizards by casting an instant or sorcery from hand for free at the beginning of combat. The deck develops through Wizards, cost reduction, selection, and copied spells, then tries to turn one free high-mana spell into a decisive combat. The strongest supported line uses Surge to Victory to exile Time Warp. Attacking creatures that connect can cast multiple Time Warp copies, creating extra turns and increasing the pressure from Adeliz, the Cinder Wind, Balmor, Battlemage Captain, and Veyran, Voice of Duality. In ordinary play, assembling the commander, two other legendary Wizards, the finisher, a graveyard target, and attackers takes about seven turns. The line is threatening but not deterministic: blockers, creature removal, graveyard hate, and disruption of Surge to Victory remain effective. The deck has solid reactive interaction and some protection, but no sustained denial engine or reliable all-opponents finish.
