Deck overview

Astarion, the Decadent is a six-mana Orzhov engine that rewards life gain and punishes opponent life loss. The primary plan is to make one or more opponents lose a large amount of life on your turn-through combat, Sorin Markov, half-life effects, or Wound Reflection-then use Feed to mirror all of that loss at the end step. A secondary plan assembles Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond, Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Vito, or Enduring Tenacity to create an infinite drain loop. Incremental drain from Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, and small vampires keeps pressure on until a combo line appears. There is no hidden commander; Astarion is the only engine, though the deck can sometimes win through the enchantment loop without him.
