Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Azorius control and combo strategy commanded by Heliod, the Radiant Dawn. The primary game plan is to accelerate mana on early turns, cast Heliod on Turn 3, and transform him into Heliod, the Warped Eclipse on Turn 4. Once transformed, Heliod allows you to cast all spells as though they had flash and reduces spell costs by {1} for every card opponents have drawn that turn. On Turn 5, casting a symmetrical wheel like Windfall or Wheel and Deal forces opponents to draw 21 total cards, discounting your spells by {21} generic mana. You can immediately flash in devastating game-enders like Psychosis Crawler, Hullbreaker Horror, and legendary Eldrazi titans (Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Emrakul, the Promised End). The deck wins on the spot by burning the table with Psychosis Crawler or bouncing all opposing permanents into an unbreakable lock.
