Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis Pirate tribal build centered on combat momentum, recursion, and creature theft. Commanded by Admiral Brass, Unsinkable, the strategy uses early mana rocks and Treasure generators to deploy the commander on Turn 5. Upon entering, Brass mills cards and immediately reanimates a Pirate from the graveyard as a 4/4 with haste at the beginning of combat. The deck scales this advantage by copying key creatures using non-legendary clone effects like Spark Double, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, and Auton Soldier. It reaches a must-answer state on Turn 6 by reanimating or casting dynamic threats like Coercive Recruiter, which steals opposing creatures with each Pirate entry. Mass theft sorceries such as Mob Rule and Insurrection provide alternative finishers, while efficient interaction and Treasure engines maintain steady pressure to close out the table by Turn 8.
