Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Lifegain Control-Combo build commanded by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, engineered to leverage passive life gain into massive resource disparity, layered defensive taxes, and decisive table-wide finishes. Operating primarily with Oloro in the command zone for free eminence life triggers, the deck deploys early enablers like Soul Warden and Authority of the Consuls before establishing pillowfort and stax friction through Ghostly Prison, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. It controls the board with premium spot exile and flexible sweepers while replenishing cards via Black Market Connections and The Gaffer. Without nonland tutors, the deck relies on deep functional redundancy to close games around Turns 6–7 via upkeep victory cards like Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance, lethal damage bursts from Aetherflux Reservoir, or the classic infinite life-drain loop pairing Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
