Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines an Aristocrats sacrifice engine with a Voltron finisher led by Super Shredder. The commander grows larger whenever any permanent leaves the battlefield, turning friendly fetchlands, Treasure tokens, and sacrificed creatures—as well as opposing permanents removed through edicts—into massive +1/+1 counter growth. The deck establishes early board presence using low-cost recurring fodder such as Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, and Ophiomancer, feeding sacrifice outlets like Carrion Feeder and Viscera Seer to draw cards with Grim Haruspex or drain life with Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. Asymmetric stax pieces like Grave Pact and Braids, Arisen Nightmare keep opposing creature boards clear while accelerating the commander's growth. Once Super Shredder reaches lethal size, evasive equipment including Whispersilk Cloak and Trailblazer's Boots allows it to eliminate opponents rapidly through unblockable commander damage, supported by direct life drain from the 99.
