Deck overview

Arcades, the Strategist commands a high-velocity Toughness Matters aggro-control deck. The strategy plays low-cost defenders during the first three turns, casts Arcades on turn 4, and immediately pivots into combat. Because Arcades allows defenders to assign combat damage equal to toughness and draws a card on every defender entry, inexpensive walls become oversized attackers that continuously replace themselves. The deck rapidly churns through cards, generating large mana pools with scaling dorks like Axebane Guardian and Overgrown Battlement. Asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Destined Confrontation clear opposing high-power creatures while leaving your wall army intact. Finishers like Tower Defense and Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive ensure combat damage connects decisively across opponents by turn 7. The deck maintains resilience against removal using mass blink spells like Ghostway and backup damage enablers like High Alert.
