Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Celes, Rune Knight as both a card-filtering engine and an essential combo piece. The primary objective is to place Murderous Redcap into the graveyard or battlefield alongside a sacrifice outlet such as Viscera Seer, Altar of Dementia, or Ashnod's Altar. When Murderous Redcap persists from the graveyard, Celes places a +1/+1 counter on it, negating its -1/-1 persist counter and enabling an infinite loop of entry triggers that deals lethal damage to the table. Beyond this primary combo, the deck functions as a resilient aristocrats and reanimation strategy. It leverages cards like Archon of Cruelty, Living Death, and Bolas's Citadel to generate overwhelming card advantage and life drain. Robust protection spells and targeted removal safeguard the engine while disrupting opposing strategies.
