Deck overview

Alania, Divergent Storm rewards the deck for casting an instant, sorcery, or additional Otter by giving an opponent a card and copying the spell. The strongest ordinary engine pairs her with Archmage Emeritus, turning one qualifying spell into two draws and a copied effect. The deck also uses Storm-Kiln Artist, Stormcatch Mentor, Veyran, Voice of Duality, Harmonic Prodigy, and Treasure-producing draw spells to create explosive turns. Its main limitation is that the commander costs five mana and the draw engine costs four, so the value engine usually becomes operational around turn 7. The list has respectable counters and removal, but its finish is not compact or reliable. Crackle with Power, Jaya's Immolating Inferno, and high-cost cascade-style spells can create strong ceiling turns, yet they need more mana and access than ordinary draws consistently provide. Treat the deck as a value-focused spellslinger deck, not a combo or competitive-control deck.
