Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Voltron Aggro strategy helmed by Wilson, Refined Grizzly and Agent of the Shadow Thieves. The game plan focuses on deploying both commanders on curve by Turn 3 to begin attacking immediately. Wilson, Refined Grizzly brings a formidable suite of built-in keywords—uncounterable casting, reach, vigilance, trample, and ward {2}—while Agent of the Shadow Thieves grants +1/+1 counters, deathtouch, and indestructible whenever Wilson attacks the player with the highest life total. The deck backs up this aggressive clock with an exceptionally dense suite of one- and two-mana protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping, Gaea's Gift, and Heroic Intervention, alongside free interaction such as Deadly Rollick and Force of Vigor. Because Wilson attacks a single opponent at a time, the deck eliminates the table sequentially rather than all at once. It leverages asymmetric board wipes and combat evasion to maintain relentless pressure while keeping mana open to shield its primary threat.
