Fire Lord by BecomeAsJerry

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula is a Grixis spell-slinging copy engine: once she attacks, every spell cast during the combat phase is copied, and her firebending mana helps bankroll the chain that combat. The deck parks cheap ping engines on the battlefield - Black Waltz No. 3, Mysidian Elder, and the 0/1 Wizard tokens from Kuja, Genome Sorcerer, Circle of Power, and Cornered by Black Mages - then converts every instant/sorcery cast during her attack into table-wide damage. Twinning Staff, Najal, the Storm Runner, Gogo, Mysterious Mime, and Shaun, Father of Synths multiply the copy count, while High Fae Trickster unlocks sorceries in the copy window. Games end through a sustained multi-spell combat turn, a Radstorm plus Prologue to Phyresis poison kill, a ritual-fueled Comet Storm, or The Emperor of Palamecia's starfall trigger once the graveyard fills with noncreature spells.
