Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain, aristocrats, and tax strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It combines low-curve token generators and soul sisters with drain engines and stax pieces. Early turns focus on deploying passive disruption such as Blind Obedience and Authority of the Consuls alongside steady token production from Bitterblossom and Charismatic Conqueror. In the mid-game, the deck leverages sacrifice outlets like Warren Soultrader and Skullclamp to generate mana and card advantage. Once Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel enters the battlefield, any lifegain trigger turns into massive card draw by paying life, quickly digging into finishers. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by chaining lifegain drain through Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Mirkwood Bats, casting a lethal Exsanguinate, or executing a two-turn sequence with Approach of the Second Sun. Robust defensive cards like Clever Concealment and Grand Abolisher protect its board state.
