Deck overview

This deck is a Jund midrange strategy built around Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, using -1/-1 counters as both resource generation and board control. By placing counters on its own creatures, the deck draws cards, while placing counters on opposing creatures drains enemy life totals. Key synergies include Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Flourishing Defenses for generating wide token armies, alongside Kulrath Knight and Everlasting Torment to completely neutralize enemy combat capabilities. Mass counter distributors like Carnifex Demon, Midnight Banshee, and Archfiend of Ifnir systematically clear opposing creatures. The deck transitions into lethal combat damage and steady life drain across Turns 6 to 8. While resilient in creature-heavy pods and rich in card advantage, the list has minimal stack interaction and few protection spells, making it vulnerable to fast noncreature combos and non-damage sweepers.
