New Untitled Deck by Allan2

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hakbal of the Surging Soul leads a tempo Merfolk build that turns combat exploration into board growth and card advantage. The primary plan is to cast cheap Merfolk, drop Hakbal on turn three, and let his combat trigger stack +1/+1 counters while the attack trigger ramps out lands. Lords plus islandwalk, Herald of Secret Streams, Thassa, or Rogue's Passage make the grown team unblockable. Commander damage from Hakbal is also a viable alternate kill once he has collected several explore counters. Secondary lines come from hexproof tokens and a Deeproot Pilgrimage/Kiora's Follower/copy loop that creates arbitrary Merfolk, setting up a final alpha strike. Emperor Mihail II and Kumena are support engines; there is no hidden commander.
