Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir tempo build commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan revolves around casting cheap, evasive 1-mana creatures on early turns and using commander ninjutsu to cheat Yuriko onto the battlefield uncountered on Turn 2. When Yuriko and fellow Ninjas deal combat damage to players, their triggers draw cards and reveal the top card of the library, dealing damage equal to its mana value to every opponent simultaneously. The deck capitalizes on high-mana-value spells with alternate casting costs, such as Shadow of Mortality, Dig Through Time, and split cards, to deal massive bursts of burn while maintaining a lean operational curve. Efficient cantrips set up devastating triggers, while cheap countermagic and targeted removal protect the board and disrupt opposing strategies.
