Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa to spearhead an aggressive toxic, infect, and proliferate game plan supported by pillowfort defensive taxes. During the opening turns, low-cost creatures like Bilious Skulldweller and Plague Stinger distribute early poison counters to opponents. Once at least one opponent reaches three poison counters, Ixhel's Corrupted ability activates, exiling cards from opposing libraries to generate recurring card advantage. In the mid-game, defensive permanents like Phyrexian Censor and Norn's Annex tax incoming attacks and restrict opposing spell sequencing while engines like Evolution Sage and Contagion Clasp steadily proliferate poison totals. The deck aims to close games around Turn 8 through token swarms generated by Phyrexian Swarmlord, Vishgraz, the Doomhive, or White Sun's Twilight. Operating at a focused casual-midrange tempo, the list trades explosive combo potential for sustained poison accumulation and resilient creature combat.
