Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-red deck builds a treasure engine and uses Smaug the Magnificent as a hasty burn outlet. Smaug creates a Treasure each upkeep and on each attack deals damage equal to your Treasure count to any target, doubled by Solphim, Dictate of the Twin Gods and Twinflame Tyrant. Extra-combat cards (Karlach, Aggravated Assault, Combat Celebrant, Bloodthirster, Great Train Heist, Seize the Day) let Smaug trigger multiple times and let dragons like Ancient Copper Dragon and Cavern-Hoard Dragon flood treasures to pay for more combats. Magda, Brazen Outlaw acts as a hidden commander, tutoring dragons and artifacts. A secondary Breach + Wheel loop provides card advantage and recursion when combat stalls.
