Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos combo-attrition strategy centered on Smaug the Impenetrable. By combining format-ceiling fast mana (Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Dark Ritual, Chrome Mox) with dragon cost reducers, the deck deploys an 8/7 flying, indestructible, hasty commander on Turn 4. Once on the battlefield, the deck targets Smaug with self-inflicted noncombat damage effects like Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, Pestilence, and Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought, converting raw damage into massive bursts of Treasure tokens. These Treasures immediately weaponize burn payoffs such as Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, and Mirkwood Bats to incinerate opponents' life totals, or fuel game-ending spells like Crackle with Power. Additionally, Blazing Sunsteel forms an infinite damage loop when equipped to Smaug. High redundancy across damage triggers and artifact payoffs ensures consistent execution by Turn 5–6.
